02/08/2025: With more freezing precipitation falling, restrictions in place on local roadways and snow again in next week's forecast we wanted to shout out the partners that help us during weather events- and offer some timely tips.
Road crews from the Borough of Greencastle, Antrim Township and PennDOT work hard to provide safe passage for our units (and the public), often responding to incident scenes with RHC apparatus or when requested.
West Penn Power personnel's prompt arrival on calls involving electric lines/poles, and help from several communication providers ensure scenes are rendered safe, repairs are initiated and our crews return to service as soon as possible.
-During snowfall events, help us by clearing snow from in front and around fire hydrants. It allows us to better see them, access them quicker and get water to the scene faster.
-Finally, PLEASE use caution and adjust your speed if traveling. When moving through an incident, SLOW DOWN, LOOK OUT for personnel operating in the area and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS of crews on scene.
